Our History

"Malwa Group of Institutions" has a proud and vast history. The seed of this entity has been sown by Late 'Dr. Ravinder Singh' who came forward to enhance the educational standards in the Faridkot in the Punjab region especially to empower the girls and also wanted to raise the health standards of that region. With the aim of accomplishing his dream to contribute in the field of education and healthcare, Late Dr. Ravinder Singh laid the foundation of "The Malwa Educational Society” established under the Society Registration Act (XXI of 1860).

At the time of its inception of "The Malwa Educational Society", it started with a dispensary in Kotkapura, (Distt. Faridkot) to serve the community by looking after them, providing medical aids at affordable cost and for better nursing care.

Seeing the increasing demands of efficient healthcare workers to provide quality health service, nursing colleges was established to fulfilling the workforce demand. In following years since the inception of Malwa Educational Society, many educational institutes including C.B.S.E / P.S.E.B schools and colleges in the field of medical and other degree courses have been established which have been performing great to impart quality education to the youth who later become the backbone of a nation and contribute to its growth.

As a truly pioneering establishment, Malwa Educational Society has remarkable achievements throughout in its two decades history. Let’s take a look through its journey to find out more about them:

  • 1999 - 2000
     

    Initially it started with "Malwa Institute of Nursing" which is among the best nursing college in Faridkot district.

  • 2002
     

    The initial program that had been announced was ‘GNM’ or ‘General Nursing & Midwifery' (G.N.M) and a four years degree course of Bachelor of Science in nursing (B.Sc. Nursing). The seats had been increased from 40 to 60 in 2002.

  • 2004
     

    As a result of hard work and the efforts in the community welfare by Late Dr. Ravinder Singh, the government of Punjab granted ‘Essentiality Certificate’ to Malwa Educational Society to start Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) programme which is a post-graduation programme.

  • 2006
     

    "Malwa Institute of Nursing" was renamed as "Malwa College of Nursing".

  • 2007
     

    Post his death in an accident, another nursing institute has been established in the memory of Dr Ravinder Singh which was named after him ‘Dr. Ravinder Institute of Nursing’ located in Bajakhana.

  • 2010
     

    New Malwa Institute of Nursing, located at Kotkapura (Distt. Faridkot) came into operation with the main motive of providing effective & efficient nursing education to cater the rising demand of nurses and midwives in healthcare industry.

  • 2011
     

    Post successful years in contributing to nursing/medical education sector, another institute ‘Malwa Degree College’ was established in order to expand more and providing affordable education in other streams like Computer/IT, Commerce, Science & Management and other courses. besides medical / nursing courses.

  • 2012
     

    In the memory of Late Dr. Ravinder Singh and with the motive to increase the literacy rate, Co - Founder 'Er. Jarnail Singh' established a Co-ed English medium school which was named after him as ‘Dr. Ravinder Sen. Sec. School’ affiliated to ‘Punjab School Education Board, Mohali.

  • 2013
     

    It was the vision of the Co-founder of "The Malwa Educational Society" to provide quality education at an affordable cost. To bring his vision into reality, a convent school named as ‘Dr. Ravinder Convent School’ has been opened which is a co-ed English medium school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E).

  • 2014
     

    In order to deliver quality teaching workforce, "Malwa College of Education" Kotkapura has been established which is specializing in offering teaching courses. The program that has been offered here is 'Bachelors in Education' (B. Ed.).
